Traditionally, the Shofar is blown 100 times during High Holidays. Makom Ohr Shalom has set the goal of gathering 100 people to blow the Shofar at services, creating an awesome sound calling all to renewal. We will also take our people’s ancient spiritual message into the community by sounding the Shofar for those confined in hospitals, nursing homes and prisons.
If you have any questions about how to blow Shofar, or about the timing or meaning of the Shofar services during the High Holidays, you are welcome to call Michael Chusid at (818) 774-0003. We will blow Shofar for both days of Rosh Hashanah in the mornings and at the conclusion of Yom Kippur services. If you know of people who are unable to come to services and need someone to blow the Shofar at their home or hospital bed, please contact Michael at (818) 774-0003. If you know of others who would like to participate in the mitzvah of Shofar, please forward this email to them.
We look forward to seeing you at High Holiday services.
