everyday lives. She enjoys
helping people personalize
prayer and open their
minds and hearts.
With influence from Reconstructionist and Renewal
Judaism, she is at home with the music, mission and
feel of "Makom." JudiAhavah inspires Jews of all ages
to personalize our rich tradition and apply its wisdom to
the seemingly mundane and find meaning in life.
Rabbi JudiAhavah involves interfaith families and
people from all backgrounds. She creates an open
atmosphere where all feel welcome. She makes Jewish
teachings, spirituality and traditions accessible to
everyone.
Rabbi JudiAhavah majored in vocal music at the
LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing
Arts in Manhattan. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in
Elementary Education and General Science from the
State University of New York at New Paltz and a
Master’s Degree in Leadership in Math Education from
Bank Street College of Education in Manhattan. She
enjoyed years teaching Fourth Graders, helping young
people discover and treasure their own personal
intelligence, build self esteem and participate in a
healthy respectful community.
Ordained at Ziegler Rabbinical School at the American
Jewish University here in L.A., Rabbi JudiAhavah taps
into what our timelss tradition has to offer a seeker and
now enjoys sharing that depth with others.
As singing Spiritual Leader & Rabbi of Har Zion
Congregation in Scottsdale, AZ and Surf City
Synagogue in Huntington Beach, Rabbi JudiAhavah
has been blessed to share in the sacredness of life.
She provides presence and comfort for people and
families through hospice care, drawing on spiritual
wisdom from many sources. Having counseled all ages,
people have told her they find her warm,
compassionate and authentic.
With a meditation practice of her own (as well as yoga
when she can), Rabbi JudiAhavah is delighted to lead
Makom Ohr Shalom and augment our musical,
meditative and inspiring services.
